Message
from the President
Dear Clients:
As you approach the end of 2005, it makes sense to look back on the year and measure your growth. What steps have you taken this year to grow, both professionally and personally? Have you gone the extra mile to attend training sessions, schedule one-on-ones, attend networking events and develop alliances. Have you fine-tuned and executed your action plans? Are you merely attending training sessions, or are you committing yourself to try some of the new techniques you learn in class? Have you attempted to step out of your” comfort zone” with the aim of taking your business or practice to the next level? Now is a good time to take inventory, so you can plan your action steps and goals for 2006. The Training Resource Group is committed to helping you reach your business goals. We can promise that we will do our part. Can we count on you to do yours?
Sincerely,
Chuck Polin

What Is Risking?
Risking means loosening your hold on what is certain
and reaching for something you are not sure of, but
believe is better than what you have. In every risk there is an unavoidable loss; something that has to be given up in order to move ahead. Conversely, not risking is the surest way of losing. When you attend training and learn new ways to network, ask for referrals, or develop action plans don’t be afraid to try out new ideas. You may need to give up your old way of doing things and move out of your “comfort zone”, but it will be well worth the risk in the end.
It is normal to be afraid when you risk. Your success when risking sometimes depends more on the willingness to leap, than on being concerned about what happens if you fail.
It makes sense to take a risk if you are unhappy, if you are stuck in your “comfort zone”, or if you are not where you want to be. When risking, maximize your success by knowing your limitations, paying attention to your “gut” feelings, confronting the fears that may be holding you back, and thinking through the worst-case scenario. Never risk more than you can afford and know when to quit. A life that is always comfortable, always without risk, is a life without growth.

Client's
Corner
Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP represents the interests of national and international clients throughout the United States. Founded in 1935, the firm has grown to include offices in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York City, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
Schnader’s practice areas include everything from bankruptcy and aviation, to business law, criminal defense, family law, and almost everything in-between. The firm emphasizes both quality and cost control. Schnader’s attorneys help clients who are frustrated with working with law firms that don’t return calls, clients who are disappointed because their current law firm doesn’t help them think strategically, or clients who believe they just aren’t getting everything they were hoping for out of their current law firm relationship.
Schnader avoids assigning more lawyers to a task than it needs. Each client has a client manager - an experienced lawyer who analyzes each matter, makes sure the client receives the service suited to the matter, and supervises the quality and cost effectiveness of the services. Schnader's clients range from large, international corporations to individual entrepreneurs. They include companies based in the United States as well as those from other countries. Schnader represents clients in many industries including transportation, manufacturing, communications, insurance, banking and finance, health care, computers and office equipment, automotive, construction, as well as service organizations.
